Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CachePilot ("the Service"), operated by CLC Labs ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CachePilot is a policy-governed proxy for the OpenAI API. The Service provides request governance, caching optimization, telemetry, and a read-only analytics dashboard. CachePilot operates as a pass-through proxy — we do not store, log, or inspect your prompt content or model responses.

3. Account & API Keys

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your CachePilot API key and your own OpenAI API key (BYOK model).
  • You must not share your API keys with unauthorized parties.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of OpenAI's usage policies.
  • Attempt to circumvent policy enforcement, rate limits, or access controls.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the proxy.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or the servers and networks connected to it.
  • Use the Service to transmit malware, spam, or other harmful content.

5. BYOK (Bring Your Own Key)

CachePilot uses a Bring Your Own Key model. Your OpenAI API key is passed through to OpenAI in the Authorization header and is never stored by CachePilot. You are solely responsible for your OpenAI usage and any costs incurred through the upstream API.

6. Data & Telemetry

CachePilot collects content-free telemetry only — token counts, latency metrics, model identifiers, policy hashes, and governance metadata. We do not store prompt text, completion text, tool call arguments, or any user-generated content. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Service Tiers & Billing

  • Free tier: Available with limited features as described on the pricing page.
  • Paid tiers: Billed monthly via Stripe. You may cancel at any time through the customer portal.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

8. Availability & SLA

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We are not liable for any downtime, data loss, or damages arising from service interruptions.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CLC Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

10. Intellectual Property

CachePilot, its logo, and related materials are the property of CLC Labs. Your content remains yours — we claim no ownership over data that passes through the proxy.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the dashboard. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
